Freedom Fingers FRT FAQ: Legal, Legit, Fitment and Shipping
The questions we get most about Freedom Fingers FRT triggers, answered in one place. If yours is not here, email support with your pistol model and generation.
Is Freedom Finger Triggers legit?
Yes. Freedom Finger forced reset triggers are original designs (or credited modifications of open-source designs, like the FFT Cut V2 based on Pembie's work). Every device carries a lifetime warranty, orders ship from US stock with tracking, and checkout runs over an encrypted connection. We wrote a longer legit check that covers what to verify with any FRT seller.
Is a Freedom Fingers FRT legal?
Under federal law, yes. A forced reset trigger fires one round per function of the trigger. A federal court confirmed in NAGR v. Garland that FRTs are not machine guns. Several states ban them, and we do not ship FRT devices to CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, OR, RI, WA and Washington D.C.. The FRT legal page has the state list and the reasoning.
Which platforms do you make triggers for?
- Taurus TX22: the 22TY, the first FRT for a .22 LR pistol. Fits all TX22 variants.
- Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0: the only FRT for the M&P 2.0 line. Not for the 1.0, Shield, SD or Bodyguard.
- Glock: the Gen 1-6 billet kit and the FFT Cut V2. Not for the Glock 44.
How hard is installation?
All three pistol triggers are drop-in with no permanent modification. The TX22 takes 30 to 45 minutes with a punch set; the M&P 2.0 is quicker; the Glock kit may need light fitting of the trim-to-fit reset. Step-by-step guides: TX22 install, M&P 2.0 install, Glock 19 fitment.
Does the M&P 2.0 trigger fit my M&P?
If the slide says M&P 2.0 (or M2.0), yes, including Compact, Subcompact, Metal and 10mm. If it is a first-generation M&P, a Shield, an SD or a Bodyguard, no. Pistols with an Apex Forward Set Sear Actuator are also out. The Select vs Non-Select page has the full fit table.
Which Glocks does the FRT fit?
Standard-frame 9mm Glocks from Gen 1 to Gen 6: 17, 19, 19X, 26, 34, 45 and so on. Gen 5 and Gen 6 may need the ambidextrous slide release swapped for a Gen 4 part. Not the Glock 44, and the FFT Cut V2 is not for slimline 43/43X/48 frames.
What springs should I run?
Glock: 20 lb or heavier recoil spring and a 3.5 lb connector. M&P 2.0: optional Wolff 4 lb striker spring and a heavier recoil spring if the reset feels early. TX22: factory springs are fine; keep spare disconnector pins.
