Freedom Finger FRT for Glock 19: Fitment by Generation (Gen 3, 4, 5)
The Glock 19 is the pistol we get the most FRT questions about. This page covers which Freedom Finger FRT fits which Glock 19, what changes between generations, and the springs that make the reset reliable.
Two options
- Gen 1-6 billet FRT kit: aluminum flat-face shoe, 316 stainless round reset, and a trim-to-fit reset for tuning. The premium option.
- FFT Cut V2: stainless trips with a printed shoe, based on Pembie's design. Lower cost, Gen 3 to 5.
Glock 19 Gen 3
The easiest install. Standard slide release, standard trigger housing. Either FRT drops in. Polymer80 and other Gen 3 pattern frames generally work but tolerances vary; expect to fit the trim-to-fit reset.
Glock 19 Gen 4
Same fire-control as Gen 3 with a dual recoil spring assembly. Both FRTs fit. If the reset feels early, a heavier aftermarket recoil assembly helps.
Glock 19 Gen 5, 19X and 45
The Gen 5 ambidextrous slide release can interfere with the FRT reset. The fix is a Gen 4 slide release, which fits the Gen 5 frame. Otherwise the install is the same. The Gen 5 trigger housing with its extended ejector is fine.
Gen 6
The Gen 1-6 kit covers it. Same slide-release note as Gen 5.
What does not fit
Glock 44 (.22 LR): no. Glock 43, 43X, 48 slimline: no, for either option. Glock 42: no.
Springs and connector
Run a 20 lb or heavier recoil spring and a 3.5 lb connector. The heavier recoil spring slows the slide slightly and gives the reset more time; the lighter connector makes the pull consistent. Change one thing at a time and function-test unloaded after each change.
Install summary
- Unload. Field strip. Remove the trigger housing pin and lift the trigger housing and trigger bar.
- Swap the factory trigger for the FRT shoe and fit the reset per the printed instructions.
- Reinstall, then rack-pull-hold-rack ten times unloaded. Confirm the forward push and release.
- One round, five rounds, a magazine. One pull per round.
