FRT Triggers and California: What We Can Ship to San Jose
Short answer first: we do not ship forced reset triggers to California, and that includes San Jose. California is on our no-ship list for FRT devices. Parts that are not rate-increasing devices — springs, pins, bench blocks, tools, oil and apparel — still ship normally. This page says which is which, so you are not guessing at checkout.
Why California is on the list
Federal law and state law are separate questions. Under federal law a forced reset trigger is not a machine gun; a court said so in National Association for Gun Rights, Inc. v. Garland (N.D. Tex., Case No. 4:23-cv-00830), because the trigger is still pulled once per round. Several states ban rate-increasing devices anyway, or define them broadly enough that we treat them as banned. We do not ship FRT devices to CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, OR, RI, WA and Washington D.C.. California is one of them, so a San Jose or Santa Clara County address cannot receive one.
What we will not send to a California address
- AR-15 forced reset triggers — the FRT-15 family, the 3-position units, the Alamo-15 and the WOT trigger.
- Glock FRT kits, including the FFT Cut V2 and the Gen 1-6 unit.
- The Freedom Finger M&P 2.0 FRT.
- The Taurus TX22 22TY FRT.
- HK MR3 and RD3 units, AK FRT units and the Canik unit.
- High-capacity magazines and drums, which California restricts separately.
What still ships to San Jose
- Wolff S&W M&P 4 lb striker spring — an ordinary replacement spring.
- TX22 disconnector pins — factory-pattern spare pins.
- TX22 bench block — a bench tool.
- Gear — gun oil, apparel and cleaning items.
- AK furniture and tools from the AK section that are not triggers or magazines, such as stocks, grips, sight tools and recoil buffers.
If an FRT device ends up on an order going to a California address, that line is refunded rather than shipped. The rest of the order goes out as normal.
What we do not sell
An FRT is not a Glock switch and not an auto sear. Those convert a pistol to fire continuously from one pull, which is a machine gun under federal law and a felony to possess without the right paperwork. We do not stock them, and we will not order one for you. If a site offers both in the same catalog, treat everything else on it with suspicion.
If you move or ship elsewhere
The restriction follows the delivery address, not the buyer. If you have a legal address in a state that is not on the list, the full catalog is available there. Do not ask us to route a device into California through a third address; we will not do it, and it would put you on the wrong side of state law.
Keeping up with the rules
